Learn about the wonderful world of raku firing with ceramic artist and instructor, Ben Freund! This class will begin with an instructional presentation by Ben describing the brief history of raku, the process itself, and its varied results and finishing techniques. The students will have a month to create and bisque work using a specific clay for raku firing. Then everyone will meet up for multiple, hands-on raku firings at Black Locust Brewery on Saturday, November 15th. (Exact time TBD.)
Ben’s discussion at Manor Mill, the raku clay, some raku glazes, and multiple raku firings on 11/15 are included in the cost of the class. Each student can bring about 4 pieces no longer than a cantaloupe. If working small, exceptions may be made, but must be discussed with instructor.
Sign up today for a unique opportunity to raku fire your ceramics and learn a whole new thrilling firing process!
